An older compilation of local sides (dating to around 2018 or earlier) lists informal or recreational teams that operated in Majuro and elsewhere, including:
Calvary I and Calvary II
Duff’s
Hogan’s Heroes
Kobeer
Majuro All-Stars
Shamrock Rovers
various Spartans teams (Spartans I, II, Blues, Red, White)
FC Swell
Play On, Purple People Eaters, Slow Motion, and others.
These appear to have been casual or short-lived groups rather than formally registered clubs with league affiliations, fixed grounds, or competitive histories. Most have since disappeared from any records as the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation (founded in late 2020) began building the sport from scratch. There is still no fully established national league; recent efforts focus on youth development, a new pitch in Majuro (also serving as coastal defence against rising seas), and the national team’s first-ever 11-a-side matches (played in the United States in 2025).
In this context, sides such as Majuro All-Stars or Shamrock Rovers stand as examples of the early, informal teams that existed before organised football and have effectively become defunct. The sport’s extremely recent introduction, combined with limited land, population, and resources, means most pre-2020 local groups simply faded without formal dissolution notices or lasting documentation.
