Coffee United SC (Uganda)
Coffee United SC (also known as Coffee FC or Coffee United), based in Kakira, was a notable Ugandan football club that is now a Forgotten Football Club.
It was one of the early participants in Uganda’s top-flight football when the national league was formalized. The club won the Ugandan league title in 1970 and remained a competitive force through the 1970s and into the 1980s. It featured in the inaugural structured league setups alongside sides such as Prisons (later Maroons), Army (later Simba), Express, and others.
Coffee United was closely tied to the coffee industry in the Jinja/Kakira area and drew support from the local community and workers. Like many institutional or company-backed teams of that era, its fortunes were linked to the stability of its sponsor. The club faced challenges, including a points deduction in 1985 amid controversies, and eventually ceased operations. By the time of later FUFA historical summaries, it was explicitly listed as defunct.
