🇲🇾 Perak F.C (Malaysia)

🇲🇾 Perak F.C. (also known as Perak Football Club or The Bos Gaurus/Seladang) were founded in 1921 as part of the Perak Football Association (PAFA), it was one of Malaysia's oldest clubs with a rich history spanning over a century before its dissolution in mid-2025.

A Perak team competed in the Malaya Cup (predecessor to the Malaysia Cup) as early as 1921. The Perak Football Association was formally established in 1951. Perak won the first Malaysia Cup in 1957 at Merdeka Stadium and reached the first live-televised final in 1964.

It turned semi-professional in 1989 and fully professional in 1994. For a long time, it was the last state team never relegated from the top flight (until 2021).

It won the Malaysian League/Premier League titles in 2002 and 2003, the FA Cup in 1990 and 2004, and the Malaysia Cup eight times (including 1998, 2000, and 2018).

The club appeared in Asian competitions like the Asian Champion Club Tournament (1969, 1971), ASEAN Club Championship (2003), AFC Cup (2004–2005), and AFC Champions League (2019).

Home matches were played at Perak Stadium in Ipoh (capacity ~42,500). The club was known for its yellow-and-black kits and strong rivalries, especially the "Malayan El Clasico" with Selangor and the Northern Derby with Kedah and Penang. Supporters included groups like Silver State Ultras.

The club remained under PAFA oversight even after professionalization. It was privatized around 2021–2022, with XOX Bhd (via XOX Pro Sport) taking full ownership. Financial instability plagued the privatized era, including debts, salary arrears, and failure to meet Malaysian Football League licensing requirements.

In April 2025, it withdrew from the 2025–26 Super League and officially dissolved shortly after, ending its 104-year professional legacy.

A successor amateur/developmental Perak FA state team was revived by PAFA for lower-tier competition and has had some notable cup upsets.
