Founded in 2002 by Sylva Nathaniel Ngo, his primary aim was to give youths in the area a pathway to better things and to steer them clear of other vices.
Their home stadium was Yenagoa Township Stadium, and they played in all blue for their home kit while wearing all white for their away kit.
Within three years, they were promoted to the Nigerian Premier League, and in their debut season in 2006, they won the league title.
After winning the league title, they qualified for the CAF Champions Preliminary Round but were knocked out by Sierra Leone side, FC Kallon, who won the two legged tie, 1-0 on aggragate.
Their league success was followed by a Nigerian FA Cup success in 2008, which qualified the club for the 2009 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup. They were knocked out in the first round by Zambian club, Red Arrows FC, on penalties after drawing 2-2 on aggragate in a two-legged tie.
It was the 12th December 2010 when tragedy struck the club when defender Emmanuel Ogoli collapsed during a game and died in hospital later that day. He was only 20 years old. The circumstances around his death were investigated by the Nigerian FA.
That same month, two other players, Okechukwu Akabogu and Austino Egbe, were involved in a car crash, which left both men severely injured.
Two years later, in 2012, the club were relegated for not fulfilling their fixtures. After much debate, they were admitted back into the National League but changed their name to Divine Warriors FC. This didn't last long, though, and after nine games, their manager left, and so did the club from the footballing world, citing financial troubles as the reason that they could not continue.
R.I.P Emmanuel Ogoli 🙏🕊
