Corporación Deportiva Centauros Villavicencio (Colombia)
Founded on January 14, 2002 (or 2003 per some sources), they were nicknamed, Los Indomables (The Indomitables).
The club had a meteoric but short-lived rise. In its very first season (2002), it won the Categoría Primera B title and earned immediate promotion to the top-flight Categoría Primera A.
In 2003, as newcomers to the Primera A, they had an impressive debut season: finishing 4th overall and qualifying for the Cuadrangulares (playoff stage). They started with a 1–1 draw against Deportivo Pasto. However, they struggled in the second half of the year and were relegated due to a poor goal difference.
Back in Primera B, they remained competitive for several years but never managed a second promotion. They reached playoff stages multiple times (e.g., 2004, 2006–2009) but fell short. Notable players included Panamanian striker Blas Pérez, who scored 29 goals in 2004.
By 2011, severe financial debts, lack of local government support, and perceptions that the club served as a feeder for other teams led to its relocation to Popayán (becoming Universitario Popayán). This effectively ended its existence as Centauros Villavicencio.
Centauros was historically notable as one of the few (and at the time, the only) teams from the Llanos region (eastern plains) to reach Colombia's top division. It brought professional football attention to an underrepresented part of the country and produced or featured talents who moved on to bigger clubs.
