🇸🇳 Touré Kunda Footpro (Senegal)

Touré Kunda Footpro (Senegal)

Touré Kunda Footpro (also known as ASC Touré Kounda or Touré Kunda Foot-Pro), based in Mbour, was a Senegalese football club that effectively ceased independent existence in 2014 when it merged into Mbour Petite-Côte FC.

Founded in 1986, it competed in Senegal’s top divisions and achieved its main success by winning the Senegal FA Cup in 2010. That victory qualified the club for the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup, where it advanced past the preliminary round against Ports Authority (Sierra Leone) before being eliminated in the first round by FUS Rabat (Morocco).

In the early 2010s it played in Ligue 1, finishing as high as 7th in 2010–11 and mid-table in subsequent seasons (including 11th in 2013–14). Its home colors were typically blue (with green accents) for home matches and white (with blue accents) for away matches. The club played at Stade Caroline Faye in Mbour (capacity around 5,000).

In September 2014, Touré Kunda merged with several other local clubs—including Keur Madior, Diamaguene, Mbour AC, Océan de Mbour, AJ Saly, ASC Guedj Gui de Saly, and Coumba Thioupan de Popenguine—to form Mbour Petite-Côte FC. This was part of efforts to strengthen football in the Mbour/Petite-Côte region. The successor club has continued competing (including further cup success) and is sometimes still associated with Touré Kunda’s earlier history and achievements. (Keur Madior later split off again around 2017.)
