Silures de Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso)
It was the dominant team in Upper Volta (the former name of Burkina Faso until 1984) during the 1970s. The club won seven consecutive national league titles from 1974 to 1980 and added the Coupe du Haute-Volta (national cup) in 1981.
Silures also represented the country in continental competition, appearing six times in the African Cup of Champions Clubs (reaching the quarter-finals in 1978 and the second round in several other seasons).
The club went out of existence in 1982. Its seven league titles remain a notable achievement in Burkina Faso football history (tied for third-most overall behind the long-running rivals Étoile Filante de Ouagadougou and ASFA-Yennenga, each with 13).
