Racing Club de Conakry (Guinea)
It originated from the merger of two earlier clubs, Aigle Noir (founded around 1929) and Étoile de Guinée (founded May 20, 1931). The new club became one of the leading sides in colonial-era Guinean (then French Guinea) football.
Multiple league titles in the regional/colonial competitions before Guinea’s independence in 1958, including championships in 1947, 1948, 1949, and 1953 (among others in that period).
It was a dominant force in Conakry football during the 1940s and early 1950s, often competing against sides such as Société Sportive de Guinée (SSG).
After Guinea gained independence in 1958 under Ahmed Sékou Touré, the new government restructured sports along administrative and political lines. Existing colonial-era clubs were largely dissolved or reorganized. Football was reorganized into district- or prefecture-based teams (e.g., Conakry I, which evolved into AS Kaloum Star, and Conakry II, which became Hafia FC). Racing Club de Conakry disappeared as an independent entity during this transition and is considered defunct.
