MDC United (Malawi)
The club was established in 1976 in Lilongwe (originally as Berec Power Pack). It became one of the founding members of the Super League of Malawi when the competition launched in the 1986 season. Its home ground was the MDC Stadium in Chilomoni, Blantyre (capacity around 20,000).
MDC United’s most notable success came in the 1987–88 season, when it won the Super League championship under coach Henry Moyo. It was the first team in Malawi to claim the league title without losing a single game. The club also won the Kamuzu Cup in 1984 (as Berec Power Pack, coming from behind to beat CIVO United 3–2) and finished as Super League runners-up in 1999–2000.
On the continental stage, it appeared in the 1993 CAF Cup, where it was eliminated in the first round by South African side Hellenic FC (aggregate 1–7).
The club remained in the top flight for many years but struggled with funding. In 2004, after the season, club officials announced its disappearance due to sponsorship issues, ending its existence.
