Athletic Union of Greek Alexandria (Egypt)
It was one of the founding members of the Egyptian Premier League when the competition launched in the 1948–49 season. The club competed for two seasons (1948–50), finishing as high as 10th in its final campaign, before being dissolved.
The club formed part of the vibrant Greek sporting community in Alexandria during the first half of the 20th century. It had earlier roots in local Greek teams (including connections to Podosferikos Omilos Ellinon Alexandrias / Hellenic FC) and eventually merged elements with other Greek sides into what became known as Al-Younan (or related Greek Alexandria clubs). Like many foreign-community clubs of the era (British, Greek, Italian, and others), it struggled to survive the social and political changes that followed the 1952 Egyptian Revolution and the subsequent nationalisation policies, which reduced the presence and influence of foreign communities in Egyptian sport.
