🇦🇱 KF Elbasani (Albania)

🇦🇱  KF Elbasani (full name: Klubi i Futbollit Elbasani) were founded in 1929 in Elbasan.

The club played in the Elbasan Arena which has a capacity of around 12,500.

The club had few successes in their history, winning the Albanian Superliga in 1983–84 and 2005–06.

They also won the Albanian Cup in 1975 and 1992 and the Albanian Supercup: 1992.

KF Elbasani was a club that represented the central Albanian city of Elbasan.

It had periods of success, especially in the 1980s and mid-2000s, but struggled with financial instability common in Albanian football.

The 2005–06 championship was a highlight, bringing joy to the city before later decline due to debts and mismanagement.

The club dissolved officially declared defunct by the Albanian Football Federation in 2022, due to financial problems and inability to field a team.

Supporters later formed a phoenix club called AF Elbasani).

Communist-era name changes were common in Albania (e.g., political or industrial themes like "Dinamo" or "Partizani" for army/police-linked clubs, some of which survived in new forms).

This saw numerous other football clubs becoming defunct, however KF Elbasani went bust due to the classic reasons of financial difficulties and a club just being mismanaged
