🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Vampires FC (England)

Vampires FC

Founded in 1896, Vampires FC were based in Norbury, North London, just a few kilometres outside of London City. The club competed in the first London League, playing in Division One. Their first game took place on the 19th of September, against Thames Ironworks (now known as West Ham Unted). They lost the game, 3-0. It wasn’t the most successful season for the Vampires, as they finished 6th out of the seven clubs competing, winning just three games, drawing one and losing eight, scoring ten goals and conceding twenty-eight goals. The league was won by the 3rd Grenadier Guards.

That was it in regards the London League for Vampire FC, as the next season, their were only two divisions created and as history would suggest, they were used by much bigger clubs in the London area, who pushed out the so-called smaller clubs, such as Vampire FC and Crouch End FC, another club that competed in Division One of the first London League, finishing one place ahead of Vampires FC, in 5th place that season.

Unlike Vampires FC, who never played in the FA Cup, Crouch End had, beating Ashford United, 6-2 in the First Qualifying Round in the 1891-92 edthe competition. They were knocked out in the Second Qualifying round by Chatham Town FC, losing the game 4-0.

It was in 1897 that Crouch End and Vampires FC decided to pull all their resources together and merge, creating Crouch End Vampires.

The club still plays in the amatuer leagues, and for me, is the ultimate Halloween football club!
