🇪🇸 Irish FC (Spain)

Irish FC (full name: Irish Football Club) was an early football (soccer) team based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.

It existed briefly from 1901 until around 1904 or shortly after. It was one of the pioneering clubs in the very early days of football in Barcelona, during a time when the sport was still developing in Spain.

FC Barcelona itself had only been founded in 1899 by Joan Gamper and a group of enthusiasts, and the city saw several short-lived teams competing for players and attention, including Irish FC, Hispania AC, Català FC, and others. Irish FC was likely formed by or associated with British expatriates (possibly including Irish or Anglo-Irish members, given the name and the era's influence of British workers/expats introducing football to Spain).

They played friendlies and local matches against emerging sides like FC Barcelona.

Historical records show matches such as:FC Barcelona vs Irish FC on November 2, 1902 (a friendly).
Another in October 1903: FC Barcelona 3–2 Irish FC.

The club was short-lived and folded or merged/disappeared as FC Barcelona and others consolidated dominance in the region. It didn't achieve major titles or long-term status but is remembered as part of Barcelona's early football history
