FC Belize (Belize)
They Club Belize FC was founded in 2005 in Belize City. They played their home games primarily at the MCC Grounds in Belize City (capacity around 5,000) but later relocated temporarily due to stadium issues.
The club was owned by Lionel Welch and had a relatively short but impactful existence in Belizean professional football.
They won the
Belize Premier Football League championship twice in 2006 and 2007 (back-to-back titles early in their history).
They were runners-up in later seasons (e.g., 2013–14) and reached multiple cup finals, showing competitiveness before their decline.
Financial difficulties combined with the death of owner Lionel Welch led to the club's withdrawal after the 2015 season. Stadium problems (MCC Grounds closed in 2014) also forced relocations, adding to operational challenges.
