FC Eschen (Liechtenstein)

FC Eschen was founded in 1933. It was an early club from the municipality of Eschen in the northern part of the country. Like most Liechtenstein teams, it competed in regional competitions and the Swiss football league system rather than a domestic league, as Liechtenstein has never had its own national league due to its small size (only a handful of clubs exist).

In 1963, FC Eschen merged with FC Mauren (founded in 1952) to create the USV Eschen/Mauren (Unterländer Spielervereinigung Eschen/Mauren). 

This merger combined resources from the two neighboring communities to form a stronger club that could better sustain participation in Swiss lower divisions.

The new entity, USV Eschen/Mauren, continues to play today in the Swiss 1. Liga Classic (fourth tier) and has won the Liechtenstein Football Cup multiple times.
