Akhisarspor (full name: Akhisarspor Kulübü, also known as Akhisar Belediyespor in its successful era) is a Turkish football club based in Akhisar, a town in Manisa Province, western Turkey.
Founded on 8 April 1970, the club is nicknamed Akigo and has colors of green, black, and yellow (with white sometimes used). It plays home matches at the Spor Toto Akhisar Stadyumu (capacity 12,139).
After the 2018–19 season, the club was relegated from the Süper Lig. Financial difficulties mounted, linked to reduced municipal support and general challenges for smaller Turkish clubs.
They were relegated to 1. Lig (2019–2021), then further drops: 2. Lig (2021–2022), 3. Lig (2022–2024).
In the 2023–24 season (3. Lig), poor results led to relegation. A heavy 6–2 defeat in the penultimate week confirmed their drop to the amateur levels.
By 2024–25, the club had withdrawn or been placed in the Turkish Regional Amateur League (lowest tiers, often called BAL – Bölgesel Amatör Lig).
The club effectively lost its professional status and struggled with squad depth, transfers, and operations.
As of April 2026, Akhisarspor competes in the Turkish Regional Amateur League (5th level or lower, specifically groups like BAL 08. Grup).
It fields a small amateur squad with local players and has very limited resources (Transfermarkt lists squad size as 0 in some overviews, reflecting minimal professional activity). Recent results show mixed amateur-level games, including losses in regional competitions.
The club maintains an official presence (e.g., Instagram) and continues operations, but it is far from its Süper Lig days. There is no major "phoenix" successor club mentioned; the entity persists in a heavily diminished form, focusing on survival and local football.
